Bullwhips I handcraft all my whips to the highest possible standards, using premium materials, a proven construction, with an unmatched attention to detail. They are combination of form and function, designed to crack effortlessly and last a long time. After carefully studying the aesthetics of the whips used in the films, and the characteristics and construction of both old and modern Morgan whips, I came up with three designs that cover the different variations seen in the films: Raiders, Temple of Doom (TOD) and Last Crusade. Construction All my bullwhips start with a steel spike for the handle that provides both a solid foundation and weight to balance the thong. The standard handle length is 8 inches, but 10 and 12-inch handles are also available for those who prefer extra leverage. The butt is lead loaded for an excellent balance. The core consists of two kangaroo braided bellies and two bolsters. The overlay is done in 12 plait. All the minute details are taken into account to achieve the look and feel of the original Indy whips. The standard color for the Raiders, TOD and LC whips is natural tan, since this was the color of the whips supplied for the films. However, they are also available in saddle tan, whisky and black. Note: Some of the whips in TOD and LC look much darker, but this is probably due to older whips from the previous film being used.
Temple of Doom Style Similar to the Raiders bullwhips in proportions, but with more taper in the handle. The ring knot placed at the end of the spike. It has double plaited bellies, and a 12 plait overlay with a 6-strand point for durability.
Last Crusade Style LC bullwhips sport a tapered and slightly thicker handle. The thong is also slightly heavier, resembling the Morgan whips from the 90’s. The ring knot is also located at the end of the spike. It has double plaited bellies, and a 12 plait overlay with a 6-strand point for durability.
